ChartViewAIS is a comprehensive desktop application that provides a powerful real time display of Vessel Automatic Identification System (AIS) data in addition to providing a large suite of analysis tools for reviewing historic data. ChartViewAIS has been deployed in major UK ports for marine awareness, security and risk analysis. The ChartViewAIS application displays data received in real time from either a single or a set of networked AIS receivers. All data are stored in their native format, as dictated by the ITU, in a robust industry standard database. This ensures that the data can be replayed and be correctly translated at any time. The real time data capture continues as a background process even when historic data are being analysed.
